It is a link in the form wa.me/94XXXXXXXXX that opens a WhatsApp chat with your number, on phone or desktop, without the customer saving your number first. You can add a pre-filled message so customers only need to tap send.
How do I write a Sri Lankan number in a WhatsApp link?
Use the country code 94 followed by the number without the first zero and without spaces, plus signs or dashes. For example 077 123 4567 becomes wa.me/94771234567. This tool converts the format for you.
Does the link work with a WhatsApp Business account?
Yes. The link works with any number registered on WhatsApp, including the WhatsApp Business app and numbers connected to the WhatsApp Business API.
